Tour summary:
This is a private jeep tour of the Judean Desert. Your day will start at Bom Samaritano inn. We then stop at an observation station where you will see the entire region. From here you can see the Qumran caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Grab your Jeep and let the fun begin. Go down to the desert and enjoy the landscape up close. Visit Metsuke Dragot and the caves around Murabat Wadi, where rebels are believed to have gone into hiding during the Bar Kochba uprising. We will drive to Michvar, a breathtaking landscape between two cliffs, and then to Mount Hassason for another lookout. Take a short break with herbal teas and finally stop for lunch and a swim in the Dead Sea. Enjoy floating in the waters and covering your body in mineral rich muds. From here, head back to your hotel, lively but relaxed.

What to expect:
Your private Judean Desert tour begins with a drive from your hotel to the Bom Samaritano inn, which was recently opened to the public and has a mosaic museum alongside an archaeological park of Byzantine ruins and artifacts. As you descend into the desert, you'll stop at an observation station where you can enjoy spectacular views of the region and see the Qumran Caves, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. At this point, the jeep will find you and the real fun will begin. On this Judean Desert safari, you'll explore the landscape up close, first going to Metsuke Dragot, Murabat Wadi and Caves. In the 1950s, many artifacts were found that took leading archaeologists to believe that this was where the rebels hid during the Bar Kochba revolt. Continuing on your exciting journey with your personal guide, you'll reach Michvar. This is an impressive landscape between two cliffs.
We will drive to Mount Hassason, where you will come to another lookout with the most impressive views of the desert. Take a short break to enjoy herbal tea prepared by your private guide. Learn how to make teas from locally grown herbs. Your last stop on the tour will be for lunch on the shores of the Dead Sea, followed by a dip in its waters, where you can experience the incredible sensation of floating due to the high levels of salt.
