DAY 1 - CAIRO
Arrival in Cairo. Reception by our local guide and we will proceed to the hotel. Dinner and overnight in Cairo. (Dinner)
DAY 2 - CAIRO, PHARAONIC NECROPOLES
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit to Cairo. The three pyramids of Chufo (Cheops), Khafre (Chefra) and Menkaure (Miquerinos), the Sphinx of Giza and the Egyptian Museum. Tours of “Christian Cairo” continuing to the Papyrus Museum. Lunch while in route. Dinner and overnight in Cairo. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)
DAY 3 - BY THE EXODUS OF EGYPT
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from Cairo via the Exodus routes led by Moses. Crossing the Suez Canal, a trip to the Sinai Peninsula passing by the Oasis where the children of Israel camped during the Exodus: Elím, Refidím and Mara. At the end of the afternoon you arrive at the village of Santa Caterina at the foot of Monte de Deus, Horéb. Lunch en route. Dinner and overnight in Santa Caterina. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)
DAY 4 - MOUNT SINAI AND PETRA
Early in the morning, we will climb Mount Sinai reaching the top in the first rays of the sun. This is the mountain where the Lord spoke to Moses and gave him the Tables of the Law written with the finger of God. Return to the Santa Caterina Monastery, which contains the oldest libraries in Christendom. Returning to the hotel, we will pick up our breakfast before continuing the journey along the desert routes along the Red Sea, arriving at the border with Israel in Taba, entering the elegant city of Eilat, continuing on to the border with Jordan in Arava. The journey continues on to Petra, the monumental capital of the Nabataeans, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Lunch en route. Dinner and overnight in Petra. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)
DAY 5 - PETRA - AMAN
Breakfast at the hotel. We will continue to the Capital of the Nabataeans, Petra. You will see the massive Royal, governmental, residential and sepulchral constructions, all wonderfully sculpted in the pink rock of the desert. In the afternoon, travel to Amman, the Jordanian capital, taking a city tour through the major avenues and centers of the city. Lunch while in route. Dinner and overnight in Amman. DAY 6 - FROM THE LOTS’ CHILDREN LAND TO THE LANDS OF ABRÃO'S CHILDREN. AMAN - TIBERIAS
Leaving Amman, we travel to Mount Nebó, from where Moses saw the land of milk and honey, and where he remained without entering. Continuation to Mádaba, where the Greek Orthodox Church of St. Jorge is visited, where the oldest map of the Holy Land, made in mosaic, is displayed. Soon after, we will cross the border between Jordan and Israel on the Sheikh Hussein Bridge, above the Jordan River, continuing on to the Sea of Galilee and, on its riverside, to the city of Tiberias. DAY 7 - AROUND THE SEA OF GALILIA - TIBERÍADES - (RENEWAL OF VOTES OF MATRIMONY) NAZARÉ
Breakfast at the hotel. Crossing the Sea of Galilee by boat, we will remember the miracles that Jesus, landing at Kibbutz Ginossar. We will continue to Capernaum, probably where Peter lived, and where Jesus then preaches and teaches. We continue to Tabgha, place of the multiplication of Bread and Fish and, beside it, Miraculous Fishing. Continue to the Mount of Beatitudes, place of the Sermon on the Mount. In the afternoon, tour to the heart of Galilee, visiting the village of Canaan, where Jesus performs the first miracle by transforming water into wine. Continuation to the neighboring city of Nazarét, center of Jesus' childhood, youth and adolescence. Visit to the Fonte da Virgem, Basilica of the Annunciation and the “Carpentaria de São José”, continuing to Monte do Precipício. Overnight in Tiberias. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)
DAY 8 – JORDAN RIVER - MOUNT TABOR - JERICHO, BETHANY - JERUSALEM - (RENEWAL OF THE VOTES OF BAPTISM)
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from Tiberias on the banks of the Jordan River, where pilgrims can reaffirm their baptismal vows. Climb Mount Tabor, visiting the beautiful Basilica of the Transfiguration. Crossing the Jordan Valley, we will enter the city of Jericho, considered the oldest city in the world, remembered for the conquest of Joshua and the passage of Jesus through it, doing many miracles. Here is found the Sycamore of Zacchaeus overlooking the Mount of Temptations, from where Jesus rejects Satan. Starting the climb to Jerusalem from the Pousada do Bom Samaritano, on the way to the village of Bethany, Marta, Mary and Lazaro’s home going up to Mount Scópus, already in Jerusalem, with a ceremony of Triumphal Entrance in front of the walls of the old city. Overnight in Jerusalem. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)
DAY 9 - JERUSALEM
Today we will start the visits to the Mount of Olives. Here is the place of the Ascension of Jesus, and where he teaches the prayer “OUR FATHER”, and from where the most magnificent panoramic view of Jerusalem is presented. Walking through Hosanna, visit the chapel of Dominus Flevit, where Jesus cries, prophesying the future destruction of Jerusalem. Continuation to the Garden of Gethsemane, where we will remember the agony of Jesus. Next, visit the Gruta da Traição and the adjunct Greek Orthodox grotto, which commemorates the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. Crossing the Kidron valley, where St. Estevan was stoned, you go up to Mount Zion visiting the house of Caiphas, today in the church of St. Peter in Gallicantu. Continuation to the Tomb of King David and the Room of the Last Supper. In the afternoon, still at Mount Zion, visit the Benedictine Church of the Dormition of the Virgin. Crossing the Gate of Zion, one enters the old city, walking through the neighborhoods of Armenians, Muslims and Jews to the Wailing Wall on Mount Moriah, leaving the old city through the Gate of Zion. DAY 10 - FROM BIRTH TO RESURRECTION. BELEM - JERUSALEM
The day's tour will start in the neighboring city of Belem, where King David and Jesus were born . We will see Rachel's grave and Shepereds’ Field before visiting the large sanctuary complex inside the ancient Basilica of the Nativity, visiting the Manger Cave and the adjacent Santa Catarina Basilica, where we will visit the St. Joseph and St. Jerônimo caves . Returning to Jerusalem, we will enter the ancient city through the Gate of the Lions, proceeding to the Pool of Bethesda and Santana, from where we will continue to the Flagellation Chapel, where we will see the floor of the Palace where Jesus was condemned by Pontius Pilate. Following in the footsteps of Jesus along the Via Dolorosa, we will arrive at the Garden of the Tomb, seeing Mount Golgotha, the place of the crucifixion, and visiting the Holy Calvary, place of the Resurrection. Time for reflection and meditation. Overnight in Jerusalem (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)
DAY 11 - JERUSALEM
Today, tour in the modern part of Jerusalem taking a panoramic city tour through the government center reaching Kneset, the parliament, to visit the Menorah - the giant seven-armed candelabrum. Continuation to the Israel Museum, where you can visit the miniature model of Jerusalem as it was in Christ's time. Next to it is the Sanctuary of the Book, where some of the Dead Sea Scrolls are presented. Yad VASHEM continues, the Holocaust Museum, the main monument of remembrance of the victims and martyrs, murdered by the Nazi regime during World War II. In the afternoon, visit to the beautiful village of Ein Karem, where is the birthplace of Saint John the Baptist and the adjunct chapel that celebrates the Visitation of the Virgin Mary to her cousin, Sta. Isabel (Magnificat). Overnight in Jerusalem. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)
DAY 12 - DEAD SEA - JERUSALEM
On this day we will travel to the Dead Sea, the deepest place on Earth, at 430 meters below sea level. Visit to Qumeran, a village of the Essenes, who bequeathed us with the oldest texts in the Bible - the Dead Sea Scrolls. Next, travel along the western bank of the Dead Sea, spotting the Oasis at Ein Gedi, where David found refuge from King Saul's fury. Continuation to Masada, formidable fortress and magnificent palace of King Herod, the last bastion of the Zealots during their dramatic struggle against the Romans in the years 69 to 72 AD. very salty and highly asphalt waters, anointing the body with the therapeutic black sludge.
